Christine Carr
Class of 1989 - Volleyball, Track & Softball

When it comes to pitching dominance, nobody in the history of Stoneham High School ranks with Christine Carr.

The 1989 SHS graduate was a four-year varsity player and a perennial Middlesex League All-Star, garnering such honors her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.  She was named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic her sophomore and senior years.

In her junior year, Carr threw 5 no-hitters including a pair of no-hitters in the tournament against Boston Tech and Winthrop.  She finished overall that season with a 13-3 record, striking out 132 batters in 109 innings while sporting a 0.39 ERA.

Her senior year, Carr was instrumental in leading the team to an 18-0 record to win the Middlesex League title before going on to be crowned Division II North Champs.

She starred in volleyball as well, being named a Globe and Herald All-Scholastic for that sport her senior ear and was a Middlesex League All-Star her junior and senior season.

Not just a standout on the athletic fields, Carr excelled in the classroom as well; she ranked second in her class and was chosen as the Boston Globe Scholar-Athlete for Eastern Massachusetts.

Carr topped her Stoneham High School career as the winner of the Blanket Award as the outstanding female athlete.

Upon graduation, Christine attended Harvard where she earned a degree in economics.  She now works at LaSalle College as the Assistant Director of Admissions and resides in Arlington.
